On Sunday Only, From 6 to 7:30 PM Is Our Old-Time Community Barn Dance
And From 7:30 to 10 PM Is "Ghost Stories" In The Main Music Stage Tent.

Admission -- $15 per day Adults - $10 Teens & Elders -- 12 And Under is Free!
($5 Discount For Both Days -- Family Rate of $40 Per Day For Mom, Dad & Their Children)

Peggy Seeger In A Special "Songmaking" Workshop

These sessions are really meant for songwriters (or would-be
songwriters) but they are suitable for anyone who is interested
in how songs are crafted. Since Peggy's songs are generally
created in a folk idiom it should be noted that these workshops
are more suitable for those who want to work in that genre.
This class is for beginners as well as seasoned songmakers.

FOX VALLEY FOLK FESTIVAL
Description, Structure, Raffle & Previous Schedules .

The Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival will be held at the beautiful 13 acre Island Park, located in downtown Geneva, IL, about 40 miles West of downtown Chicago. Eight stage areas present concerts, hands-on workshops, topical song and story workshops, dance, vocal and instrument classes and special things for the kids.

Once again, there will be tents and covered areas in case of rain, plus dozens of craft and record vendors, activities for the children, workshops and picking circles throughout the site.

Raffle

Our Festival raffle will feature a Top line guitar, provided by our good friends at Tobias Music in Downers Grove, IL. . The raffle will also feature other prizes like boxed folk music CD sets and books.

Getting To The Festival

The Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival is held each year at beautiful Island Park, a 13 acre island in the Fox River located in downtown Geneva, IL, (about 45 miles West of downtown Chicago). The main parking area for the Festival is at the Kane County Government Center is at 719 S. Batavia Avenue, (IL Rt. 31), in Geneva. The Chicago & Northwestern METRA Railway station is also located three blocks west of the festival's entrance. For train schedules from Chicago to Geneva visit the METRA web site.

Lodging and Campgrounds

The list is not meant to be a recommendation but is just the Geneva area accommodations that we know about. New hotels are opening regularly so check the web for others.

The Comfort Inn & Suites Geneva, 1555 E. Fabyan Pkwy, Geneva, is providing special support to the Festival and offering guests a very special rate if the mention the "Fox Valley Folk Festival" when they make their reservations. They are the closest hotel to Festival parking.
